Generic Propecia (Finasteride): drug introduction

Generic Propecia is an oral drug containing active substance Finasteride which belongs to a class of medications called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. In medicine this substance treats benign prostatic hypertrophy by blocking the body's production of a male hormone that causes the prostate to enlarge. Propecia is also used in easing of several androgenic side effects associated with the use of anabolic steroids. In case of treatment the Propecia should be used for three months or more. The usual dosage of the medication varies from 1 to 5 mg per day. The main side effects associated with the use of Propecia are: decreased sexual disfunction.
