Thyronorm (Levothyroxine Sodium) by Abbot Pharma: results, dosages and side effects

Thyronorm is an oral drug manufactured by Abott Pharma and containing active substance Levothyroxine Sodium. This substance belongs to a small group of medicines called thyroid hormones, which work by replacing the body's low levels of thyroxine. It is used as s a hormone replacement usually given to patients with thyroid problems, specifically, hypothyroidism. It is also given to people who have goitre or enlarged thyroid gland. Among bodybuilders and athletes it is very popular for using in pre contest phases and as a fat burning product. Thyronorm comes in boxes, each unit containing 100 pills (125 mcg/pill).

The main goal of Thyronorm is to regulate protein, carbohydrate and fat metabolism. That fact will lead to an increase in protein synthesis and overall energy levels. Thyroid hormone helps to maintain brain function, food metabolism, and body temperature, among other effects. Thyronorm acts to make the body burn a higher quantity of calories than usual. Thyronorm is of huge help for bodybuilders that look to shed weight or in the cutting cycle when they want to harden the gained muscle mass whilst shading the last of the fat.

The average dosage of Thyronorm is 100-125 mcg per day with a gradual increase to 200 mcg and more in the following period. Dosages vary according the age groups and the individual condition of the patient, body weight and compliance to the medication and diet. Maximum dosage may reach 400 mcg per day but in very rare cases. Beginners however, are advised to start with a dosage of 50 mcg. Taking Thyronorm for too long and/or at too high a dosage can result in a permanent thyroid deficiency. It is important to stress that a cycle should last no longer than 6 weeks and it should never be halted abruptly. As slowly as the dosage was built up it should also be lowered, one tablet every 3-4 days. Thyronorm can be sometimes followed by allergic reactions that are characterized by symptoms such as difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, or swelling of the face and tongue. Acute overdose may cause fever, hypoglycemia, heart failure, coma and unrecognized adrenal insufficiency.
