Roaccutane is an oral drug manufactured by Roche, Switzerland and containing active substance Isotretinoin which is classified as a retinoid and is made from a synthetic form of vitamin A. Vitamin A plays a very important role in the maintenance of healthy skin. It assists in the release of oil from the oil glands and it has a considerable role in skin renewal. In medicine it is usually used primarily for treating severe cystic acne and other forms of acne. Among bodybuilders and athletes Roaccutane has the same role: reduction of oil and countering acne. Roaccutane comes in boxes, each unit containing 30 caps (10 mg/cap).
Roaccutane is primarily used among athletes and bodybuilders to combat certain negative effects during or after an anabolic steroids cycle. Roaccutane works by shrinking the sebaceous glands within the dermis, and consequently reduces the amount of oil produced. The reduction in oil then leads to less clogging of the pores and therefore to a reduction in the breakouts. Roaccutane is used to treat severe cases of acne that has not been helped by other treatments, such as antibiotics. IT is a very powerful compound and even people who have failed to respond to other treatments seem to benefit from the use of Roaccutane.
The treatment with Roaccutane lasts usually for periods of 16-20 weeks followed by a period of rest. It is very important that the drug is taken for the entire period prescribed - even if skin becomes clearer early on in the course. Early termination of treatment could lead to a relapse. The dosage of Roaccutane should be taken with a full glass of water. This will help prevent the medication inside the capsule from irritating the lining of the esophagus. The capsule should not be chewed or sucked. Usually at the beginning of the treatment users should take no more than 20 mg of the compound. The dose can be increased at a physician’s advice.
While using Roaccutane Most people experience chapped lips, dry skin and itching, dryness of the nose, mild nosebleeds, irritation of the eyelids and eyes, joint and muscle pain. Some users also experience temporary hair thinning, headache, increased sensitivity to sunburn, decreased night vision. In rare cases there may occur more serious side effects such as nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, severe chest or abdominal pain and difficulty swallowing. While using Roaccutane some serious mood changes have also been noted: depression, sadness, suicidal thoughts and psychosis.
