Nolvadex-D is an oral drug manufactured by AstraZeneca and containing active substance Tamoxifen Citrate, which is a non-steroidal with strong anti-estrogenic properties. In medicine Nolvadex is currently used for the treatment of both early and advanced estrogen receptor positive breast cancer in pre- and post-menopausal women. Additionally, it is the most common hormone treatment for male breast cancer. This drug also shows the ability to increase production of follicle stimulating hormone and LH luteinizing hormone in the male body. But the most important feature of Nolvadex is to be an anti-estrogen agent. The drug comes in boxes, each unit containing 30 pills (20 mg/pill).
Nolvadex-D is probably the most popular ancillary drug for male steroid users who wish to avoid the estrogen like effects caused by the use of anabolic steroids being the harshest enemy of gynecomastia. While Nolvadex does not prevent the buildup of estrogen in the body, it does prevent it from acting on certain receptors, most notably, those located in the nipples. However users should know Nolvadex acts only as an estrogen antagonist and does not prevent aromatization process. The disadvantage of this feature is in the fact that after its use discontinuation one can experience a rebound effect of the estrogen levels.
The average usage of Nolvadex is 10-30 mg daily for men and about 10 mg daily for women. Users should start with lowest dosage and then increase it gradually. Nolvadex is usually administered around the time when exogenous steroid levels drop and it should be continued for several weeks after, until the point when natural Testosterone is brought to normal level. Nolvadex can be stacked with such drugs as Proviron for a stronger anti-estrogenic effect. The combination of Clenbuterol, Tamoxifen and Dianabol is also very utilized by bodybuilders during a cycle. In post cycle therapy men should start the usage with a quantity of 40 mg per day with a gradual decrease to 20 mg until the end of the cycle. The duration of post cycle therapy is about 4 to 6 weeks.
The most common serious side effects that may occur while using Nolvadex are: sudden numbness or weakness, especially on one side of the body, sudden severe headache, confusion, problems with vision, speech, or balance, chest pain, loss of appetite, increased thirst, muscle weakness, confusion, and feeling tired or restless, unusual vaginal bleeding or discharge or irregular menstrual periods.
