Orligal (Orlistat) by Signature Pharma: results, dosages and side effects

Orligal is an oral drug manufactured by Signature Pharma which is also known as Tetrahydrolipstatin, which is a drug designed to treat obesity. Also known as Orlistat this product is widely used among bodybuilders and people in general to prevent the absorption of fats from the human diet, thereby to reduce the caloric intake. It is very popular for treating obesity in people with certain risk factors, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol or level. Orligal comes in boxes, each unit containing 80 capsules (120 mg/capsule).

Orligal is commonly used with an individualized low-calorie, low-fat diet and exercise program to help athletes lose weight. It also modestly reduces blood pressure prevents some of the fat in the consumed food from being absorbed in the intestines. This unabsorbed fat is then removed from the body in the stool. However while using Orligal people should be very careful, follow the prescription of the physician and it should never be shared with another person, especially someone who has a history in digestive disorders.

Orligal tablets should not be used by the persons below 18 years. It is usually taken 3 times a day during every meal containing fat. It should be taken strictly during the meal or up to 1 hour after a meal. It is important that if the interval is more than 1 hour since the last meal was taken to skip the missed dose and continue the regular dosing schedule. Double dose for making up to the missed one should not be taken. Orligal may decrease the absorption of vitamins and it is useful to take a multivitamin once a day at bedtime.

This medication should not be taken by persons that have gallbladder problems, or chronic malabsorption syndrome (an inability to absorb food and nutrients properly). The main side effects that may occur while taking Orligal are: oily spotting on underwear or on clothing, oily or fatty stools, stomach pain, irregular menstrual periods, loose stools, difficulty controlling bowel movements, pain or discomfort in the rectum, anxiety and headache as well as other negative effects.
